Healthy Lifestyle Changes
You will receive straightforward information and tips on how to live long, and live well
I wrote this book because…
In 2006, I came closer to death than I care to admit. There I was, a thirty-eight-year-old previously “healthy” doctor who almost died. Luckily, I did not die, and in 2007 I started a journey to achieve optimal wellness. During this journey, I realized the training I had received in medical school was not adequate for achieving optimal wellness, and I became obsessed with getting the information I needed to transform my health. In this book, I turned years of research and experience into simple concepts and actionable steps that will enable you easily achieve what you desire for your health. Many people focus on “not dying” instead of truly living because they simply do not realize there is another option. But no matter your age, optimal wellness and longevity are achievable!

A hormonal imbalance can occur in both men and women, typically starting in our mid 30’s; however it can be earlier or later. Signs of a hormonal imbalance are not just hot flashes, loss of erection capability, and night sweats. Signs that your hormones are out of balance can be fatigue, loss of libido, decreased muscle tone, difficulty losing fat/having excess weight, diminished focus or memory, skin and hair changes, cold intolerance, a general loss of vitality or “mojo”, along with many other symptoms. Replacing your deficient hormones with bio-identical hormones can bring back your quality of life.
Heavy metals are prevalent in our environment. It is difficult for our body to eliminate them so they end up stored in our body, often in our fat cells. This can make it difficult to lose weight and can lead to a variety of symptoms: poor focus, brain fog, mood changes, memory decline, hardening of the arteries, aches and pains, etc. Chelation treatment involves utilizing a chelating agent to pull these heavy metals out of your body and into your urine, allowing your body to eliminate them. This can be done with oral or IV chelating agents. In addition to utilizing chelating agents, we advise you on ways to assist your body in detoxification and proper mineral support.
We are surrounded by toxins and they impact just about every bodily function. Toxic overload can potentially lead to coronary artery disease, autoimmune disease (Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, etc.), along with a wide variety of symptoms. Detoxification involves reducing, or eliminating, the toxins that you are exposed to along with eliminating the ones that have accumulated in your body. Elimination of the toxins involves chelation (removal of heavy metals by IV or oral chelating agents) along with supportive treatments such as the use of epsom salt and infrared sauna.
IV Vitamin Therapy
IV therapy is not just for people in the hospital, wellness IV’s are widely used by people like you who wish to stay healthy as well as for people wishing to treat their medical issues more naturally. IV therapy is an easy and wonderful way to bypass the intestinal system and ensure that you receive the nutrients. There are several different wellness IV’s: Meyers Cocktail (blend of B vitamins, Vit C, and Magnesium), high dose Vitamin C, Glutathione, and Ozone. Each one has its specific uses.
Bio Energy Testing
How healthy are you really? This is a question asked by many people. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of each cell in your body, creating the energy that you need to function at your best. Mitochondrial health can not be tested by traditional means. The Bio Energy test is a unique test that can give us a good picture of the health of your mitochondria, along with other things. It is a painless test that involves some exercise on a stationary bicycle at an easy pace that the overwhelming majority of people can do.
Body Composition Testing
When you step on the scale all it tells you is your overall weight. You have no idea how much muscle, fat, water, etc that you have in your body. While the number on the scale may make you feel good (or bad), it is not an accurate picture of your health status. A body composition test is able to give you the numbers that matter–the amount of muscle, fat, and water that is in your body. This allows you to determine if a weight gain is gain of muscle and loss of fat, or a gain of fat. It can also ensure that weight loss is fat loss and not muscle loss. If you are trying to be the healthiest version of you, it is important to know your body composition.
Concierge medicine is a type of medical practice that puts you first. Your needs are the focus because health insurances are not involved. With a concierge medical practice, your doctor can give you the time that you need and look at the whole wellness circle. This is in contrast to a traditional medical practice that is dictated by health insurances, causing doctors to have rushed visits with you and thousands of patients that they care for. Concierge medical care involves the patient paying a fee to the doctor directly, but by doing that it puts you back in the drivers seat.
